Consisting of 25 members, Mayo Chamber Choir was formed in 2011, and performs a wide variety of music including a cappella part songs (Sacred and Secular), Jazz, and Classics. The multi award winning choir won 2nd place in their 1st competition in the Mayo International Choral Festival in 2012 and again in 2013 and 2014.

They came 1st in 2015, 2016 and again this year 2017. They won 1st in their category at the Kiltimagh Choral Festival in 2015 and were awarded ‘Choir of the Festival’. They performed in the ‘Concert for Peace’ in Knock Basilica in May 2016.

They performed Karl Jenkins ‘The Armed Man’ in the National Concert Hall last February. They host three concerts each year in Ballina Arts Centre and in Castlebar’s Christ Church.  The Choir’s Director, Niamh O’Kelly, studied Singing, Composition and Piano at the Royal College of Music London, The University of Limerick and The Leopold Mozart Konservatorium, Germany and is currently Head of Music in Castlebar College of Further Education.
